i would like to add my perspective on the continuing fighting going on between sadr and his militia and the iraqi and american troops in najaf. IT IS a typcial middle eastern negotiating ploy to come to an agreement and then suddenly just as you are supposed fulfill what you have promised to ask for a bit more to make sure the deal gets done. this is as much an ISRAELI tendency as it is an arab one here. it is part of the reason this part of the world does not work properly. we believe everything is a 'shuq' (market) and can always get a better deal, and critiquely speaking we are terribly wrong.
